Care Instructions

At The Bead Project by TWOPU, we take pride in crafting jewelry using high-quality, hypoallergenic materials. Our pieces feature gold-filled or sterling silver chains and earring hooks, all sourced to be lead and nickel-free for your comfort and safety. We also occasionally use high-quality plated materials, which are carefully chosen to remain hypoallergenic.

Care by Material

Gold-Filled & Sterling Silver

• Keep dry and free from lotions, perfumes, and sweat to prevent tarnishing.
• Gently clean with a polishing cloth or a mild solution of lemon juice and baking soda if tarnished. Rinse and dry thoroughly.

Paper Beads

• While our beads are water resistant, they are not waterproof. Do not submerge.
• Store in a cool, dry place to preserve shape and finish.
• Do not compress or bend the beads, as they may lose shape.

Glass Beads

• Highly durable and often survives drops.
• While strong, glass is not completely indestructible—handle with reasonable care.
• Clean gently with a soft cloth if needed.

Copper & Brass

• Both metals will naturally oxidize and darken over time. This patina is normal and can add to their charm.
• To restore shine, gently polish with a soft cloth and a mix of lemon juice and baking soda or a metal cleaner made for copper/brass.

Gifts & Other Accessories

• Paper Bowls & Trays: Intended for decorative use only. Do not fill with liquids, and avoid placing in ovens or dishwashers. Store in a cool, dry place.
• Paper Planters: Intended for decorative use only. Place nursery pot directly into our paper planter, which features a drainage hole. Store in a cool, dry place. To clean, wipe with a damp paper towel.
• Paper Bead Clutches: Keep dry and avoid submerging in water to maintain their structure and appearance.
• African Pants: Designed for comfort and low-impact activities. The fabric is delicate; avoid stretching or pulling to prevent tearing.
